These terms cover your use of ResidentReady, an educational assessment tool for medical residents and the faculty who teach them. Please read the limitations below: they are the part that matters most.
What ResidentReady is
ResidentReady turns a resident’s real clinical work into short practice assessments. Faculty name a case or topic; the system retrieves published sources, writes candidate questions against them, verifies those questions and releases only the ones that pass. A resident answers on a phone, and the results accumulate into a longitudinal, domain-level picture of performance on ResidentReady’s own assessments.
What ResidentReady is not
Read this before relying on anything here
- It is an educational tool. It is not medical care and not clinical decision support.
- Nothing it produces is a substitute for professional medical judgement, your own reading, or your supervisors.
- It does not predict or guarantee performance on any board or in-service examination.
- It is not an ACGME Milestone instrument and carries no board or ACGME endorsement.
- It is not certified under HIPAA, FERPA or SOC 2, and has had no external penetration test.
- Questions are generated against retrieved sources and independently verified, but they are not a substitute for a textbook and may still contain errors. Tell your program if you find one; every question carries a flag control.
Never enter patient information
ResidentReady is designed to hold no patient-identifiable information anywhere — not in what you type, not in a database column, not in a log. Enter the operation, diagnosis or topic only: no names, medical record numbers, dates of birth, or schedules. The system refuses topics that look identifiable, and every generated question is scanned. Do not rely on that as a safety net; do not enter it in the first place.
Accounts and access
Faculty, program staff and operators sign in with Google. There is no password. An account is linked to one Google identity permanently on first sign-in, and a matching email address does not override that link. Residents do not need an account to take an assigned quiz: the link they receive opens one assessment, expires, and can be revoked. Program staff can see only their own program, and can see individual results only where the resident has consented.
Text messages
- ResidentReady sends transactional educational and account notifications only — a secure link to a quiz your program assigned you, and reminders about it.
- We do not send marketing or promotional messages.
- Message frequency varies, because it depends on how often your program assigns work.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at the address below.
- SMS consent is not required to use ResidentReady. You can register, take quizzes and see your results without it.
- Opting out of SMS does not withdraw any other consent you have given, and does not close your account.
- Carriers do not guarantee delivery, and neither can we.
- You are responsible for giving an accurate mobile number and for telling us when it changes.
Your mobile number and your SMS choice are recorded when you give them, and the choice is stored as a dated, auditable event rather than as a flag we can quietly change. If no SMS provider is configured on this deployment, no message is sent and the system records that plainly rather than reporting a delivery that did not happen.
Acceptable use
Use ResidentReady for your own education and for teaching residents in programs you belong to. Do not attempt to reach another program’s data, share assessment links intended for another resident, or reproduce examination material from any source into it.
Availability
This is a version 1 deployment. It depends on third-party services — Google for sign-in, an AI provider for question generation, NCBI for source retrieval, and a messaging provider where one is configured — and it is offered as it stands, without a service-level commitment. When a dependency is unavailable, ResidentReady refuses the action and says why; it does not substitute unverified content.
Changes
These terms may change as the product does. The effective date above changes with them, and material changes to how text messages work will be reflected here before they take effect.
